Funeral services for Elinor Sukup age 83 of Verdigre will be at 10:30 AM, June 27, 2011 at St. Wenceslaus Church in Verdigre, NE
Elinor (Block) Sukup daughter of August and Bessie (Buxton) Block was born September 6, 1927 in Venus, NE. She attended elementary school at Pleasant Hill #59 and Midway School District #125. She graduated from Creighton High School and Taught school two years at the Walnut Grove School District #62.
On August 26, 1945 Elinor married Leo Sukup and they lived on the family farm for 52 years. They had a fertilizer business where they sold liquid fertilizer for 25 years. They were members of the American Angus Association and held Production Sales. They were the parents of two children, Karen and Lyle.
She was a member of an extension Cldub, Annniversary Club and Just So Busy Club. She was also a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and Altar Society. After Leo's illness they moved into Verdigre in March of 1996. Afer Leo passed away in February of 1997 Elinor continued to marke her home in Verdigre.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Hanson; son Lyle Sukup; five grandchildren, Jason Hanson, Jamie Johnson, Jon Hansen, Devin Sukup and Kassy Hampton; four great grandchildren, Myranda and Elliott Hanon and Ella and Lila Johnson; sisters Elaine Mott, Lorene Kinnison, Sisters-in-law Eva Maule and Jackie Block; also many nieces and nephews.

Elinor married Leo Richard Sukup, son of Joseph Andrew Sukup and Elizabeth (Bessie) Skokan Sukup, on 26 Aug 1945. (Leo Richard Sukup was born on 23 Mar 1918 in Verdigre, NE and died on 5 Feb 1997 in Verdigre, NE.)
